Atlantic Ocean Road. A legendary 8.3 km stretch which is often ranked among the world’s most beautiful rides for riders. Trollstigen (Troll’s Path). A World Heritage UNESCO site, it is a dramatic serpentine mountain road with hair-raising climb, 11 hairpin turns, steep inclines, and waterfalls. Lysebotn road. One of Norway’s most famous and thrilling mountain roads. Fjords: Deep blue waterways carved by glaciers, surrounded by towering cliffs.

Day 01 

Aalborg

Denmark

We hope that you arrive at your first hotel by 6 pm. Welcome dinner with your tour leader will be at 8 pm. During the dinner we learn to know each other a bit and talk about upcoming days.

Day 03 

Lysebotn - Stavanger

Norway ° 181km

A relaxing breakfast and then we will drive the best part of Lysebotn Road back up (32 km). From Flatstolona we turn towards direction of Stavanger. On the way we see the Magma Geopark, Norway’s Unique Geological Wonder. It is the world’s first and one of the largest geoparks, recognized by UNESCO for its exceptional geological heritage, stunning landscapes, and rich cultural history.

Day 05 

Bergen - Sogdalsfjørda

Norway ° 268km

Today your landscape start to be quite dramatic. You will experience Norways biggest fjord, the Sognefjord, that we will cross with a ferry. But before that, we will cross the Vikafjället mountain plateau. For the night, we will stop to at the small village of Sogndalsfjøra, on the shore of Sognefjord.

Day 07

Åndalsnes - Trondheim

Norway ° 328km

If yesterday was your best riding day ever, today you will have another one! You will ride The Atlantic Road, one of the most iconic and scenic roads in the world. It stretches along the country’s rugged northwest coast, connecting a series of islands and skerries with eight bridges, including the famous Storseisundet Bridge, which appears to dip into the sea due to an optical illusion.

Day 09 

Trondheim - Mora

Norway - Sweden ° 492km

Today we head back south and to Mora in Sweden for a night. You will have a lot of open space, small mountains and more speed! Mora is a very charming town in Dalarnas area, known for its rich cultural heritage, stunning natural landscapes, and connection to Swedish history and traditions. It’s also the finishing point of the famous Vasaloppet, the world’s largest cross-country ski race.

Day 11 

Oslo - Aalborg

Norway - Denmark

Until 1pm free time for Oslo, then we ride to the Harbor and take a ferry back to Denmark. The ferry arrives to Frendrikshan at 07:45 pm, and from there we will ride about 60 km to our hotel in Aalborg. At Aalborg, we will take our farewell dinner.

Day 02 

Aalborg - Lysebotn

Denmark - Norway ° 276km

After breakfast we will ride 70 km north to Hirtshals where we take a ferry to Kristiansand, Norway. In Norway, the absolute highlight of the day will be the Lysebotn Road. It's one of Norway’s most famous and thrilling mountain roads and famous for its dramatic scenery, steep climbs, hairpin bends, and breathtaking views of the Lysefjord and surrounding mountains.

Day 04 

Stavanger - Bergen

Norway ° 220km

Your best driving day ever in Norway! Islands, ferries, bridges and peaceful countryside. We follow E39 and ride on many of its side roads as well up to the awesome Bergen.

Day 06 

Sogdalsfjørda-Åndalsnes

Norway ° 289km

The scenic route from Sogndalsfjøra to Åndalsnes via Trollstigen follows dramatic fjord and mountain landscapes. The famous Trollstigen road is a serpentine mountain road with 11 hairpin bends down from 858 meters to Åndalsnes. And it’s a road which every Norwegian biker ride it at least once in the lifetime!

Day 08 

Trodheim

Norway 

Holiday in holiday! It means that today is a day off. Relax, hike, visit some museums, do as you wish! Or have a sauna! Stu Sauna offers some of Norway’s most unique saunas, designed and built by architecture students, with direct access to the fjord. This makes a sauna experience with Stu a perfect activity in Trondheim.

Day 10 

Mora - Oslo

Sweden - Norway ° 322km

Today we say 'see you next time' to Sweden and ride back to Norway. And in Norway, we will ride to its great capital, Oslo. The drive from Mora to Oslo is a scenic journey that takes you through the heart of Dalarna and Värmland. It is offering a mix of rolling hills, dense forests, lakes, and charming Swedish towns before crossing into Norway.

Day 12 

Aalborg

Denmark >

Time to ride home. But if you have time, we recommend you to visit Copenhagen. From Copenhagen, you can ride back via E 47 to Rødby. And from there, it is easy to catch a ferry to Putgarden in Germany. Crossing time is 45 min and the ferry departs every 30 min.

Your own bike! For an enperienced rider, everything goes. Just keep in mind, that we will have many small roads and many hairpins in Norway.

What makes this tour special?

Southwest Norway is a dream destination for motorcyclists, offering a perfect blend of dramatic fjords, twisting mountain roads, coastal highways, and breathtaking landscapes. Southwest Norway is home to some of the world’s most famous and scenic motorcycle routes, including, Suleskarvegen, Lysevegen,  Trollstigen (The Troll’s Path) and Atlantic Road. We drive them all on this Nordic adventure!

Is this a guided motorcycle tour?

Yes, this is a fully guided tour, with a native Finnish and a native French tour leader. Both tour leaders speak naturally fluent English. Peter speaks also Swedish and Norweigian. And Martine, the French guide speaks also Spanish.

 

How are the road conditions in Norway?

You will ride on 100% paved roads, they are generally in good condition. But in Scandinavia winters can be hard for the roads, some remote roads might have cracks and even potholes. But your tour leader will slow down on these parts. So you ride mainly on quiet secondary roads.

 

Can I join with a passenger? 

Yes, passengers are very much welcome on this tour. 

 

Starting point of the tour?

The tour starts in the beautiful city of Aalborg, in the North of Denmark. If you come from the Europe’s ‘deep south’ and you have been driving a few days already, we recommend you to take a rest day in Aalborg before the tour begins.

What is the best time to ride in Norway?

Summer absolutely. Months 6-8. In Scandinavia the weather can always be highly variable. But even so, the summer months are the months to drive here.. The average weather temperature in Southern Norway on our tour days is most likely +15 - +20 C during the day time. However, we are driving in mountain area so the weather conditions can change quickly.

Who is this tour suitable for and how difficult is the Trollstigen motorcycle tour?

The Trollstigen motorcycle tour is moderate and a bit challenging. This tour is best suited for riders with some long-distance touring experience. And with some experience of small curvy roads. The roads are 100% paved but from time to time a bit challenging. 

 ​

Is there a support vehicle?

No. there is no support vehicle, so you’ll transport your own luggage on your motorcycle. Packing light as possible is recommended.

 

Is riding in this region safe?

Yes, roads are generally very safe and traffic is low. Scandinavians love to follow the rules. However, remain attentive and watch out for wildlife, especially mooses. 


Can I book this tour privately?

Yes, we can organize this tour for your own group during months 6-9. Dates and details can be customized. Ideal for friends, clubs, or company trips. ​
