Nordkapp Motorcycle Tour Itinerary
Day 03
Kuopio - Rovaniemi
Finland ° 510km
After a very Finnish buffet breakfast this morning with specialities, we continue our motorcycle trip to the North Cape and will ride to the Finnish Lapland's capital, Rovaniemi. Most likely you will see on the roads our first reindeers today! You will ride on lots of empty roads, be careful with the wild animals.. For the night we park our bikes almost at Santa's doorsteps, here in Rovaniemi.
Day 05
Inari - Nordkapp
Finland - Norway ° 360km
Go more north! And going more north from Ivalo means also that we contine our motorcycle trip out from the forest area. The trees shrink to bushes before they totally disappear when we will arrive at Nordkapp!
But before we drive anywhere, we visit Siida museum! Siida is a Sámi Museum and Nature Center. We will learn about the Sámi people, the native people of Lapland. Later, we change country and drive to Norway. But the only real change you will notice on the road, is just a road sign saying Norge - Norway!
Day 07
Alta - Narvik
Norway ° 468km
Today we say 'go south'! It is maybe also the most spectacular driving day of the whole motorcycle tour Nordkapp. We drive Norway's Atlantic Ocean Road! Scenic Road, connecting the mainland to small islands and islets, eight bridges to ride with panoramic views. After a full motorcycling day, we stop at the vibrant city of north, Narvik!

Day 11
Umeå - Helsinki
Sweden - Finland ° 430km
Our ferry to Finland leaves at 11:15am so yes, crossing time is about 4 hours so we have time for Archipelago Buffet which is also our farewell dinner because it will be a little bit late before we are in Helsinki. From Vaasa to Helsinki we have a 430km ride and it will take about 5h. Means we arrive to Helsinki about 9pm.
Day 02
Helsinki - Kuopio
Finland ° 390km
Showtime. Our first driving day on our motorcycle tour to Nordkapp takes you to beautiful Kuopio which is along the beautiful and longest lake in Finland, Did you know that there are over 180000 lakes in Finland? We will see a few of them on this motorcycle tour through Finland, all in great landscapes to enjoy on this trip. Most of the day we avoid main roads and drive secondary roads which are much more fun for us bikers. We end our day at a lakeside hotel where you can have a swim un the lake or at the hotel pool. With the sauna naturally!
Day 04
Rovaniemi - Inari
Finland ° 330km
Every day is a good day to visit Santa Claus! And Santa is living in Finnish Lapland. He is working 364 days from 9am to 5pm a year in an amazing fantasy world named after him, the SantaPark. His home is lirerally on the Arctic Circle. It's the only place in the world where you can meet the original Santa Claus! After the visit, we continue our motorcycle trip towards Nordkapp. We ride to the north across Lapland's remote areas where reindeers are the most common inhabitants. Tonight we stay in Inari in the area of the awesome Midnight Sun!
Day 06
Nordkapp-Alta
Norway ° 260km
If we did not visit Nordkapp yesterday evening/night we do it this morning... or both!? Most likely after breakfast, we ride in the middle of magnificent views to Nordkapp. Today we have a short ride to Alta so we can take our time here! And yes, today we have only magnificent and awesome views and many many bends.
Day 10
Mo I Rana - Umeå
Norway ° 424km
Today we say 'see you next time' to Norway and drive to Sweden. The North of Sweden, a very sparsely populated area like the Northern Finland. In the evening we arrive at the shores of the Gulf of Bothnia and a small town whose name is Umeå. It is the largest city in Northern Sweden, nice and small, as they are many in Sweden and Scandinavia.
Day 12
Helsinki
Finland >
The tour ends and time to go home. But before that we return the bikes which need to be returned. So if you have a rental bike, don't book your return flight before noon! And, if you have a spare day or two, it is not a bad idea at all to enjoy our big small capital, Helsinki!

What makes this tour special?
This is a true bucket-list motorcycle journey to the northernmost point of mainland Europe, Nordkapp. And because of the Midnight Sun, it is a very special experience even for people from south parts of Scandinavia. It is a pure freedom feeling riding on empty roads in extreme northern landscapes.
Is this a guided motorcycle tour?
Yes, this is a fully guided tour, with a native Finnish and a native French tour leader. Both tour leaders speak naturally fluent English. And Martine, the French guide speaks also Spanish.
How are the road conditions we ride towards Nordkapp?
You will ride on 100% paved roads, they are generally in good condition. But in Scandinavia winters can be hard for the roads, some remote roads might have cracks and even potholes. But your tour leader will slow down on these parts. So you ride in Finland and Sweden on quiet secondary roads. In Norway on scenic coastal roads.
Can I join with a passenger?
Yes, passengers are very much welcome on this tour.
Can I join with my own motorcycle?
Yes, you can. Just be in Helsinki on the tour's day one. There are many ferry options from Europe. Here are the 3 main routes to Finland with a ferry.
1) From Germany. Trawemunde - Helsinki with Finnlines
2) From Sweden. Stockholm - Helsinki or Stockholm - Turku with Silja Lina and Viking Line
3) From Estonia. Tallinn - Helsinki with Silja Line, Viking Line or Eckerö Line

The sun never sets above the Arctic Circle for two months. The month before the summer solstice and the month after the summer solstice. It is one of the most unique natural experience in the world. You can only see it in the far north.
Who is this tour suitable for and how difficult is the Nordkapp motorcycle tour?
The Nordkapp motorcycle tour is moderately challenging, and this tour is best suited for riders with some long-distance touring experience. You should be comfortable riding several hours per day over multiple consecutive days. The roads are 100% paved and generally easy, but daily distances, changing weather, and long riding days require focus and endurance.
The riding pace varies by country. In Finland and Sweden, roads are quiet and allow smooth riding with steady progress, while Norway is more scenic and slower due to fjords, tunnels, and coastal roads. It is ideal for adventure riders looking for a rewarding Arctic journey rather than a technical riding challenge.
Is there a support vehicle?
No. there is no support vehicle, so you’ll carry your own luggage on your motorcycle. Packing light as possible is recommended.
Is riding in this region safe?
Yes, roads are generally very safe and traffic is low. Scandinavians love to follow the rules. However, remain attentive and watch out for reindeer and wildlife, especially in Lapland. You will see many reindeers. Normally they don’t do any fast movements.
